Why We Should All Be Using An Eye Cream

This month we’re buzzing about eyes or rather the delicate skin around them, which happens to be some of the finest and most fragile skin on the whole face. Because we’re constantly using our eyes – blinking, squinting and expressing emotion through them, this part of the face can be particularly susceptible to wear. What’s more, genetic reasons, UV light, external stressors and lifestyle factors can also mean this area ages more rapidly.

So what can you do to minimise damage to this delicate skin and keep your eyes looking their best?

Firstly take great care not to drag the skin around the eyes when you are removing make up or applying skincare products. Always use a very gentle sweeping motion from inner to outer eye and use a damp cotton pad. Apply as little pressure as possible and never ever rub vigorously.

Secondly drink plenty of water. Lines around the eyes can often be caused by dehydration so make sure you’re hydrated on the inside and to protect this area from UV rays by wearing sunglasses in bright conditions.

Lastly but just as importantly applying an eye cream will help keep the skin around your eyes in good condition. Bee Good’s  Lift and Brighten Eye Cream contains anti-oxidant rich propolis – straight from the hive – to fight ageing free radicals. Plus it’s got skin tightening oat extract and silk tree extract to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. Remember to dot it carefully around the eye area and pat into the skin very gently until it’s absorbed fully.

Lastly, a little tip that helps to reduce puffiness. Take two used tea bags, chilled in the fridge. Lie down and place them on closed eyes and leave for 15 minutes. They will work miracles if your eyes are red, sore or puffy.
